Our Reconciliation Action Plan, built by our Indigenous Engagement Professional, Sara Curley, is a robust protocol framework that we’re currently learning, practising, and preparing to share with others!
In June of 2026, we hosted and participated in Teachings of Ka’nikonhri:io into Corporate Culture, Speaking from a Good Mind with Sara Curley.
REPRESENTATION MATTERS
We are pleased to be a new sponsor for the 2026 Conference on Diversity in Engineering, UVic, Bridging the Gap: Building a Foundation for Equity.
Our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion team led by People + Culture, develops policies, programs, and events that foster inclusion and belonging in our work place and community.
We stay active and up to date with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) and follow the BRAVE framework:

Islander prioritizes the safety, well being, and equity of our employees. Through our benefits program and People + Culture lead, we support physical, psychological, and social safety protocols. Our policies and benefits support mental health, maternity and parental leave and well being needs.
